Aiko does not upload the file to the cloud to make the transcription; everything happens on your device. And it works fairly quickly, too: I was able to transcribe a half hour radio drama in just a few minutes.

I’m using Velja to allow me to quickly and easily decide which browser to open a link in - whether that link is in an email, another browser, etc. For my use case, I use a Mac. I have 3 chrome profiles - two for work, and one for personal. I can pick which one to use for any given link. That’s what I needed. So, this solves the problem nicely for me.

The best

This is the best audio recorder/transcriber I’ve come across. I used to work in a noisy warehouse and could never hear our team leader during morning meetings. Using this, I was able to catch all the words even with the surrounding noise. Also great with non-English languages. It does what it’s supposed to do- simple as that.

Velja is a wonderful app. I use it on my work Mac to send links in Slack to Chrome(my work browser), while sending links from Messages to Safari. And you can configure other links you receive to open in any app you choose. If you get a link that you haven’t configured, then Velja will prompt you to pick a browser. It’s great!

Great App for Shortcuts Users

I use shortcuts a lot and the Short Run app has quickly become almost indispensable. I especially like the ability to run shortcuts by way of quick keys and application-specific shortcuts. I wrote the developer about two issues, and they were fixed in an update two days later. An easy 5 stars for me.

The app works great and it respects user’s privacy by not collecting data. It’s also the only app I’ve found where one can drag an audio from iMessage and drop it in the app to get a transcription, which is useful for users that use the phone in multiple languages.

I just wish you could convert to more than just HEIC. The Image Converter app (a competitor also on the App Store) which does do multiple formats isn’t as clean as this app. It only does 1 image at a time and you can’t tell it where to send the converted images - you have to drag them from the app into the folder you want.

Great transcription app.

This does a great job with transcription. I use it daily for my creative writing. It works much better if you use audacity to clean up the background noice then truncate silence to get rid of large gaps between speech, if you have any. Other than that, it’s awesome. Recommended

Apps using Apple input have a 4-key (shift-cmd-option-V) paste which clears formatting. As usual, MS apps have to do their own thing, and this app is a lifesaver. I just turn it on and can forgot about Microsoft Word or Excel formatting being totally screwed up when I paste anything from anywhere. Bravo!

An excellent application for speech to text. I was looking for something that would be very close to ChatGPT voice-recognition and I found that this app is almost identical and very accurate speech recognition in variety of languages that I speak. Very useful for remote shortcuts

My main use case is to get my Mac to run shortcuts from my iPad. Works great and very cleanly done! I really do wish it was possible to choose a Mac to run the shortcut, as the workaround to doing this is quite complex within Shortcuts.

I stumbled across One Thing when trying to find something that could spotlight a button on the menu bar and realised it could help me focus on guess what? One Thing at a time. I use Hookmark and since One Thing supports markdown links I can *both* bookmark (on the menu bar) *and* open one thing. Fabulous!

A nice, very simple calendar. No adverts. Just really good - I use it every day. Cleanly integrates with Calendar app if you need that. UI completely fits with MacOS. Apple should buy it off the developer and include it as standard!

I had been using Meeter, but Dato eclipses it in terms of functionality and configurability. I was about to contact the developer about a certain feature (excluding meetings whose subject matches certain text) but then noticed that feature is already implemented. Dato is a very capable product from an excellent developer.
