This guy makes some of the best apps I've ever seen. This is just one of them that's awesome. Super happy with the simplistic design and minimalist approach. Just hover over the icon and insantly see remaining time (or have that in the icon itself).
Expectations Exceeded!
I got this app to see how long my battery would last before I have to plug it back in. Not only does it say how long my MacBook would run, it also says how long it would take to charge!
Brings back removed functionality
After Apple removed the ability to see time remaining on battery, I felt my Macbook Pro was missing a simple feature that should be included on product that demands such an investment. I found Battery Indicator to be a more than adequate replacement.
Great App!
Battery Indicator is a great app, and does exactly as advertised- it gives a fairly reliabile readout for how long you can expect your battery to last. 5/5, definately worth the price of admission.

The number comes from macOS and the app has no control over it.
Can it show “apps using significant energy” like the built-in battery indicator?
It can unfortunately not show this because of restrictions (sandboxing) imposed on apps on the App Store. However, you could change the menu bar item type to text instead of the icon and use this app in combination with the system battery indicator.
Can it play a sound when the battery is charged a certain percentage?
The app has a built-in sound when showing notifications. However, if you want a different sound, you can disable the default notification sound in the “Notification Settings” and then follow the below steps.
This is a perfect use case for the built-in Shortcuts app. You can use the Play Sound action to play the sound you want. To run the shortcut when the battery is at a certain percentage, use Shortcuts automations.
